Painting 1 spring 2012 16"X20" Still Life in primary colors and white Red, blue, yellow, and white oil paint.
From one to two to three colors. With the primary colors, you basically have a full palette, seeing as how you can mix any color from those.
I was running out of still life objects, so I stole some of my brother's toys, which are actually my old toys. I have trouble with yellows, because of blending. My teacher loved the sunflower, but didnt like the way I painted the bunny. Said it was too muddy.
How old is your brother? Those stuffed toys are so cute! XD Ah, I agree, yellow is a hard color to work with, but you pulled it off quite nicely! <3 As for the bunny, I don't think it looks TOO bad. By what your teacher said, I would have thought that it would be OVERLY muddy, but its not! I think a bit of the textures around the head and the LACK of textures/shades around the feet kind of give off that impression, but other than that, they so cuuuuute! *snuggles*<3
